A blend of granite, pumice, zeolite and laterite in a range of particle sizes, so the whole thing looks vaguely like some homogenous, deserty habitat. Very classy! It’ll more evenly distribute water and slow evaporation, so water accordingly. Scooped straight out of a big bucket in my greenhouse and into a heavy-duty resealable satchel.
